I believe it’s important to acknowledge hard work. I like to leave random notes of appreciation for my staff — a small gesture has a big impact. When it comes to culture change at a facility, I think it means respecting history but having the integrity to do what is right, even if it goes beyond the scope of how you’ve been trained. When I’m not working, I devote time to being a husband, father, grandfather, church and community leader, and spend time volunteering.
